All’improvviso tutto si spense, tutto diventò incerto e buio. “Quarantine Mood” ripercorre lo stato d’animo di un’adolescente che durante il primo lock down si trova rapito della sua quotidianità, dei valori esistenziali più semplici, come la socializzazione, il contatto umano e si ritrova catapultato in una dimensione nella quale vaga in cerca di una logica che non riesce elaborare. Dopo due anni “Quarantine Mood” continua ad essere il mood di una generazione non più in quarantena ma in corsa verso la salvezza, una generazione che scappa dalla distruzione, dalla devastazione di una guerra che neanche riesce a realizzare e a spiegarsi.

Spruzzi di Jazz, di nujazz e indie, in cui le percussioni analogiche come xilofono, marimba e batteria si incontrano con l’elettronica creando un sound collocabile all’interno della new jazz generation.

Le cinque tracce dell’Ep sono la sintesi di un vagare nella musica in cerca di se stessi durante i primi mesi della pandemia: Walking Alone, la prima traccia, uscita come singolo nel giugno 2021, il cui video girato da Federica Vero, è stato finalista al Rome music video festival, rappresenta il “camminare da solo” in cerca di una ragione, di una luce, una luce nel suono della musica che Helmet Project ritrova nella seconda traccia “The Sound of light” pubblicata nel novembre scorso, in cui il sax di Sergio Battaglia si libera creando un senso di libertà. Sens of Freedom terza traccia, rappresenta la naturale evoluzione del brano precedente sempre con la partecipazione di Sergio Battaglia, in cui il “senso di libertà” ritrovato nella prima estate di quel periodo ci aveva fatto illudere. Quarantine mood è la quarta traccia, quella che dà il titolo all’Ep e che ci indica che purtroppo il mood non è molto cambiato e che adesso più che mai per tutti noi ma soprattutto per i giovani il momento storico continua ad essere difficile ma non perduto. Loss è la traccia che chiude l’Ep, un breve grido di speranza affinché i giovani tutti possono ritrovare la libertà, l’amore e soprattutto il futuro che purtroppo adesso sembra fermarsi come un ingranaggio che nuovamente si è bloccato.

Suddenly everything went out, everything became uncertain and dark. "Quarantine Mood" traces the mood of a teenager who, during the first lock down, finds herself enraptured by her everyday life, by the simplest existential values, such as socialization, human contact, and finds herself catapulted into a dimension in which she wanders in search of a logic that cannot elaborate. After two years, "Quarantine Mood" continues to be the mood of a generation no longer in quarantine but in the race to safety, a generation that escapes from destruction, from the devastation of a war that cannot even realize and explain itself.

The five tracks of the Ep are the synthesis of a wandering in music in search of oneself during the first months of the pandemic: Walking Alone, the first track, released as a single in June 2021, whose video shot by Federica Vero, was finalist at the Rome music video festival, it represents "walking alone" in search of a reason, a light, a light in the sound of the music that Helmet Project finds in the second track "The Sound of light" published last November, in which Sergio Battaglia's sax becomes free creating a sense of freedom. Sens of Freedom third track, represents the natural evolution of the previous song always with the participation of Sergio Battaglia, in which the "sense of freedom" found in the first summer of that period had made us deceive. Quarantine mood is the fourth track, the one that gives the EP its title and that shows us that unfortunately the mood hasn't changed much and that now more than ever for all of us but especially for young people the historical moment continues to be difficult but not lost. Loss is the track that closes the EP, a brief cry of hope so that all young people can rediscover freedom, love and above all the future which unfortunately now seems to stop like a cog that has once again stopped.
